The XS-ABILITY project team has completed a field testing campaign at Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant in Lithuania. The campaign was carried out jointly with the DORADO project, which invited XS-ABILITY to take part in the initiative. Following months of development and
Nuclear decommissioning is one of the most complex industrial challenges. High radiation levels, confined spaces and intricate infrastructures can make inspection activities difficult or excessively hazardous for human operators. Robotics can play a key role in overcoming these limitations. The XS-ABILITY project
The XS-ABILITY project has reached another important technical milestone with the successful integration of the GAMON gamma spectrometry sensor, developed by CAEN SpA, onto the Boston Dynamics Spot quadruped robot at the Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) in Halden, Norway. The integration has been successfully completed, and
The second official XS-ABILITY Newsletter is now available! This issue focuses on the latest developments across the consortium, highlighting collaboration, innovation, and real-world applications of robotics, drones, and advanced sensors in nuclear Dismantling and Decommissioning (D&D). Key highlights in this issue
The official video of the European project XS-ABILITY is now available. This full version expands on the previously released short video and includes direct contributions from each project partner, presenting their role and results within the consortium.XS-ABILITY is a European research
First short official video of the European project XS-ABILITY, where seven scientific and technological partners from six European countries are joining forces to tackle one of the key challenges in the nuclear sector: the safe and efficient dismantling of complex and
XS-ABILITY at WNE 2025 XS-ABILITY has just concluded its participation at WNE 2025 in Paris – one of the leading international events for the civil nuclear sector, held from November 4 to 6, 2025. All project partners were present throughout the
The XS-ABILITY project is moving from testing to real-world validation through the launch of three operational use cases in complex nuclear environments. These scenarios have been carefully selected to demonstrate practical deployment of the developed technologies by the end of the
The first official XS-ABILITY Newsletter has been published, marking an important milestone for the project funded by the European Union’s Horizon Euratom Programme. This first issue introduces the XS-ABILITY project and its mission to reshape the future of nuclear Dismantling and
From March 25 to 27, XS-ABILITY had the privilege of being represented at the European Robotics Forum 2025 (ERF2025) in Stuttgart, Germany, through our partner IFE. This annual event, a cornerstone for Europe’s robotics and AI community, brought together over 1,500
